This week, NASA have released an incredible video featuring at mid-level solar flare captured by their Solar Dynamics Observatory.
A solar flare is a large burst of radiation which presents itself as a moment of brightness over the sun’s surface. This particular flare shown is an M-Class which has an intensity of 6.5, this is compared to the X-Class flare which has a level of 65. Though no one on earth can feel the effects of the flare as it cannot pass through the earth’s atmosphere, it is still an incredibly beautiful video to see.
